Friendly Indoor Match Report – Sunday 19th October 2025
Oxford & County Bowls Club vs Bicester Bowls Club
A very wet Sunday afternoon provided the perfect opportunity to play an indoor match for the first time this closed season, as we travelled to Oxford & County’s fantastic indoor rink for a friendly fixture.
Due to player availability, we played four teams in a rinks format, while the remaining Bicester club members played a singles match against each other.
This was the first time on an indoor rink for many of Bicester’s players, and it was therefore Oxford & County who took the win and enjoyed a resounding victory!
🌟 Special Mention
Credit must go to Bicester’s top-performing rink, led by Skip Alan Wagner the quartet delivered an outstanding performance and made a significant contribution to the team score. Well played, gentlemen!
But beyond the numbers, the true highlight of the day was the warm and friendly atmosphere. There was plenty of laughter, good-spirited banter, and a keen sense of camaraderie that made this a great match a real celebration of the beginning of the closed season.
Please note these dates in your diary:
The club is located off London Road between Launton Road mini-roundabout and the railway crossing and opposite Priory Road.
A pedestrian access is also available through Garth Park (off Launton Road).
